Business problem

A defense education-fund program relied on spreadsheets to track allocations, limiting collaboration and financial visibility.

User problem

Internal users needed to understand allocation status and take action without switching among disconnected records.

My ownership

Redesigned the education-fund allocation dashboard.

Created and maintained Figma design and component libraries.

Conducted heuristic evaluation, UX audits, and user testing.

Constraints

The work involved a defense-contract environment and may require redaction.

The workflow needed to represent complex allocation states while improving collaboration.

Research and evidence

Gathered requirements with business stakeholders.

Used heuristic evaluation, UX audits, and user testing.

Important decisions

Consolidated allocation information and actions within the dashboard.

Developed reusable components and patterns.

Collaboration

Worked with product and engineering in an Agile environment on requirements, acceptance criteria, handoff, and design QA.

Systems thinking

Translated a spreadsheet-based operational process into a shared product workflow and reusable component patterns.

What shipped

  • Education-fund allocation dashboard
  • Supporting Figma components and patterns

Reflection

A public version must balance operational clarity with approved disclosure and redaction boundaries.
